I have seen these things several times over the past few months, but about a week ago a friend showed me some video footage of these things... and I'm amped! I have been watching videos and reading countless forums on the construction and design of these ancient wave shredding vehicles. here is a clip of a talk that Tom Wegener gave about the Alaia. It's awesome. I'm going to try and make one of these, will probably take many attempts to get something rideable, but Im stoked and haven't been able to let my mind rest for the past few days.
